Design Projects
Seattle University annual report: Global Education. At Seattle U each year's report covers a different theme relevant to university and social issues. As the lead designer on this project, I had a fun time contacting different colleges/departments for images relevant to their international programs. I worked collaboratively with the Communications team for concepts and production. The report received great feedback for its timeliness, concept and quality writing

Books, Translation Center, Apiu
Book covers and layout for the Translation Center, Asia-Pacific International University in Thailand.
The Translation Center is both a training center for students and a publishing ministry, sharing Christian and health materials. While waiting on my translators, I would often think up cover designs — but the challenge of many Southeast Asian languages is that phrase breaks can change the meaning entirely! It was great to work collaboratively with people from all over Asia, and learn differences in design and marketing perspective.
Health book for Lao, using "New Start" principles. A great resource for a country in need of practical diet and lifestyle tips!

Steps to Christ in a tribal Myan language. This book has been translated into many languages — and now there's one more! We featured the poem Footprints on the back.
Miracles of Grace, to be translated into the Cambodian language. It's a daily devotional book specifically for those involved in publishing / literature evangelism ministry. Now, having done door-to-door work in Cambodia, I know this is not a typical sampling of homes there. But, it is a great representation of the variety of individuals you meet — and a glimpse of the feelings you get right before you knock.

Hope for Bangkok
Hope for Bangkok is a ministry whose goal is to share the gospel in the metro Bangkok area through community outreach, church plants, vegetarian restaurant/cooking classes and affordable ESL classes. Working with a couple of other student volunteers, we helped support their ministry through various communication pieces and also made a start in developing their ministry's identity. Here's a bi-lingual newsletter I designed to update donors, church members and other interested audiences.
One of my designs was selected and refined by the team as Hope for Bangkok's logo. It represents the three angels from Revelation 14, proclaiming the everlasting gospel, a call to remember God's Creatorship, and warning that we are living in His judgement hour.
Postcards for Hope for Bangkok. The artwork is from large paintings by a Thai artist depicting different scenes of Christ's second coming, and other Bible stories. Painted in a traditional Thai style, the paintings also use an Asian method of story telling. For instance, if you look closely, you can see another small "cloud" showing Jesus born in Bethlehem.

Gala Program for Seattle University. The gala materials had already been concpeted by their previous designer, so I got to flush out the design for the program, banners, and powerpoint. This was a nicely printed piece; the light grey areas indicate a spot varnish alone.
